Which charges an iPhone faster with no cable, the Anker MagGo or the UGREEN MagFlow?
This is the round the whole comparison turns on. The MagFlow pushes 25W across its magnetic pad. The Anker MagGo pushes 15W, so on paper the UGREEN moves two thirds more power into your phone with no cable in sight.
Qi2 is the open standard that put a ring of magnets behind the charging coil, so any Qi2 magnetic power bank snaps onto the back of a compatible iPhone in the right position every time and charges at up to 15W. Qi2.2 is the newer version of that standard, and it raises the ceiling to 25W.
The catch sits on your phone, not on the bank. Older iPhones can’t negotiate Qi2.2, so on an iPhone 12 to 15 the MagFlow drops to 15W, which is exactly what the Anker does anyway.
Picture the gate at Amsterdam Schiphol with 40 minutes before boarding, phone at 20 per cent, both hands full. On a current iPhone the MagFlow buys you meaningfully more charge in those 40 minutes. On an iPhone 13, the two banks finish level.
UGREEN’s 25W claim isn’t marketing. The MagFlow appears on the Wireless Power Consortium register under record QI-24323, which is where every certified Qi2 and Qi2.2 product has to be listed.
Anker’s own specification for the A1664 tops out at 5W, 7.5W and 15W. Anker buyers can’t spend their way past that either, because Anker sells eight different MagGo magnetic power banks and not one goes above 15W magnetic.
Which one is easier to carry all day?
The Anker weighs 200g against the MagFlow’s 254g. That gap is 54g, better than a quarter of the lighter bank’s whole weight. Clipped to a phone that’s already in your hand for eight hours, it’s the difference between a bank you forget about and one you keep shifting between pockets.
Thickness decides more than the scales do. The MagGo Slim measures 14.7mm front to back, on a metal frame with a liquid-silicone pad that grips the phone instead of sliding across it.
There’s an objective way to settle this. Divide capacity by weight and you get power-to-weight: the Anker carries 50mAh per gram, the MagFlow 39.4mAh per gram.
Magnetic banks score lower here than plain ones, because magnets and charging coils are dead weight. Judge these two against each other rather than against a bare 10K brick.
Which is better once you plug a cable in?
Wired, these two are level on speed. Both put out 30W over USB-C, enough to fill a phone quickly and keep a tablet ticking over, and neither one pulls ahead.
What separates them is what you have to pack. The MagFlow has a USB-C cable built into the body plus a separate USB-C port, so it charges two devices and needs nothing else in the bag.
The Anker gives you one USB-C port and no cable attached to anything. That sounds like a detail until it costs you an evening.
You’re in a hotel room in Chicago, the bank is in your jacket and the cable is in the laptop bag you checked. A built-in cable is suddenly the only feature that matters, and it’s why the MagFlow scores 9.0 on our port and cable criterion against the Anker’s 6.0.
Which one holds more charge?
Both banks say 10,000mAh on the box, and that’s not the number to compare. Capacity in mAh only means something at a stated voltage. The honest measure is watt-hours.
By that measure the Anker holds more. Anker rates the A1664 at 38.7Wh against the MagFlow’s 36Wh, so the lighter bank is also the one carrying about 7 per cent more energy.
The 36Wh figure deserves pinning down, because third-party spec tables keep printing 37Wh. That comes from multiplying 10,000mAh by 3.7V, which assumes a single cell.
The MagFlow runs two cells in series at 7.2V, and UGREEN’s own manual and casing label both print 36Wh. Neither bank goes anywhere near an airline limit either.
International rules allow power banks up to 100Wh in hand luggage without airline approval, and at 38.7Wh and 36Wh these two sit at roughly a third of that. Check your own airline before you fly, and read the airline rules for power banks once, because the rules on where the bank travels are stricter than the rules on its size.

The UGREEN pushes power into your phone faster when there’s no cable involved, but only if your iPhone is new enough to accept it. The Anker is lighter and slimmer, and it holds slightly more charge.
So the question isn’t which bank is better. It’s which iPhone you own. If it’s recent, take the speed. If it isn’t, the speed isn’t on offer and you may as well take the lighter one.

If you’re buying one, buy the UGREEN MagFlow. It takes the two rounds that change what the bank does for you day to day, magnetic speed and the cable you no longer have to pack, and it doesn’t give enough back on weight to lose the argument.

On an iPhone 15 or older the MagFlow’s headline speed isn’t available to you at all. Both banks sit at 15W, and the Anker is lighter, slimmer and holds more energy. At that point the choice makes itself.
