Anker vs UGREEN 240W cable, head to head

On paper these two are close. Both are 240W PD3.1 charging cables with a built-in e-marker, both are braided, both run USB 2.0 for data, and both landed on 7.5 in our standalone reviews of the Anker Zolo and the UGREEN 240W. So the decision is not about which is better overall, it is about which is better for you. Here is how they split across the four things that matter.

Charging: a dead heat

There is nothing to separate them here. Each carries the full 240W, 48V at 5A, under USB Power Delivery 3.1, with the e-marker chip the standard requires above 60W. Either one fast-charges a 16-inch MacBook Pro, a USB-C gaming laptop or a Steam Deck at full speed rather than a throttled trickle. UGREEN’s own testing puts a MacBook Air M3 at 88% in about 35 minutes with a suitable charger, and the Anker Zolo behaves the same way. If charging speed is your only question, flip a coin.

Build and durability: UGREEN wins

This is the clearest gap. UGREEN rates its braid to 30,000 bends and backs it with triple internal shielding and solid aluminium housings. The Anker Zolo is rated to 10,000 bends, roughly a third of that. The Anker has its own build trick, a slim 5.8mm dirt-resistant connector that slides into recessed ports and thick cases the chunkier cables fight, but on raw toughness the UGREEN is the cable that survives years in a bag. Both carry a 2 year warranty, so on durability plus cover the UGREEN is the one ahead.

Data: a tie at the floor

Neither cable is the answer if you move files. Both run USB 2.0, 480Mbps, which is fine for charging and the odd phone backup and far too slow for large transfers or an external SSD. This is not a flaw unique to either, it is how almost every 240W charging cable is built. If you need one cable that also moves data quickly or drives a monitor, both are the wrong buy, and you want a USB4 cable instead. Value and buying: two kinds of value

They reach value from different directions. The Anker Zolo’s reviewed listing is a 1.5m three-pack, so you kit out a desk, a bag and a bedside in one purchase, and it is sold as USB-IF certified. The UGREEN is a single cable, but it adds a 2 year warranty and the option to buy direct from UGREEN as well as Amazon, which matters if you would rather not rely on a marketplace listing for cover. If you want several cables at once, the Anker is the better value. If you want one tough cable with the longest safety net, the UGREEN is.

From Darleene, which one I would actually carry

For me it comes down to the bag. Mine lives with keys and a water bottle, and a cable in there takes a beating, so the one rated to 30,000 bends with a warranty to back it is the one I trust to still work in a year. That is the UGREEN.

The thing that gives me pause is the slim Anker plug. It is the one that actually fits my phone in its thick case, where a fat connector will not sit. So for the bedside and the case I would happily take the Anker three-pack. For the bag I carry every shift, it is the UGREEN.
